Our Story
Considered design, made to age well.

The Making
Karo began with a simple frustration: good bar tools were easy to find, but nothing worth keeping them in.
The roll is made from full-grain leather, cut, stitched and finished by hand in South Africa in small runs. Full-grain is the least forgiving leather to work with and the most rewarding to own — it records use, darkens with oil and light, and settles into the hands of the person using it.
Everything we make answers a single question: will this be better in five years than it is today? That rules out coatings, corrections and shortcuts, and leaves honest materials, restrained detailing, and finishing done slowly.
